The Wrong Way

Sealed, damp, and dark - that is a petri dish. Caps left on trap moisture; a closed bottle cannot breathe.

The Right Way

Clean first: wash with mild soap, scrub lid and gasket.
Dry completely: air-dry uncapped overnight; a dish rack works well.
Store open: leave the cap off or loosely placed, never screwed tight.
Cool, dry place: avoid bathrooms and direct sunlight.
Periodic check: every month or two, air it out.
