Short answer: yes. Food-grade stainless steel (304 or 316) is inert and safe for hot coffee. The real questions are about taste, staining, and which bottle to use.
304 and 316 stainless steel do not leach harmful chemicals into hot liquids, unlike some plastics. A double-wall vacuum bottle also keeps coffee hot without a plastic liner touching the drink.
Cheap or scratched steel can impart a metallic note, especially with acidic coffee. Rinse with baking soda occasionally and avoid abrasive scrubbers. A clean bottle should taste neutral.
Coffee tannins stain lighter liners over time. A baking-soda soak removes it. Do not use bleach. Hand-wash the lid, where oils accumulate.
Both are fine, but tea leaves residue faster. Rinse soon after use.
